A short story from the Grimm’s Tales, Rumpelstiltskin is a fairy tale in which a creature who appears at midnight assists a lady in turning a pile of hay into gold and ascending to the throne of the kingdom in exchange for three gifts: the ring, the necklace, and her firstborn child.
